 Amidst the plethora of business opportunities in Jamaica, The Investment in JAMAICA Forum has focused on three sectors in the Jamaican economy that are poised for more growth and diversification: ICT/BPO Services, Tourism and Niche Manufacturing. ITES: Invest in BPO and IT Export Services (ITES)

MANUFACTURING: Invest in Niche Manufacturing

Jamaica is in an excellent location to manufacture goods for domestic, regional and international markets. With the expansion of the Panama Canal scheduled for completion in 2014, the Port of Kingston in Jamaica is poised to reap the benefits of being one of only a few ports in the region with the ability to accommodate post-Panama ships. Investors at the Forum will learn about the many advantages of establishing manufacturing operations in Jamaica, which is considered a "low labour cost" destination.

MAJOR PROJECTS: Invest in Major Projects

The Government of Jamaica's divestment policy (to be finalised) provides the framework for the privatising of key state assets, such as the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) and other strategic holdings. This roundtable will engage participants on the key divestment projects and will also present major investment projects in the areas of logistics and industrial parks, as well as urban redevelopment projects and real estate developments.
