ICT Workforce

Workers with an impressive range of skill sets are widely available on the island, as the labour force stands at more than one million persons. The island’s level of tertiary enrolment is 32.8%, while adult literacy is at 87%. In support of the many universities, technical school and available online programs, the government-funded and operated training agency HEART/NTA (Human Employment and Resource Training/National Training Agency) currently has 28 training institutions that are charged with providing training to meet the requirements of employers. As it relates to the ICT sector, the government is creating a BPO-oriented syllabus at the NTA to ensure the suitability of the labour pool.
