Alvin G. Wint is Emeritus Professor of International Business at the University of the West Indies (UWI). He has served UWI in several capacities, including Pro Vice Chancellor. He holds a Doctorate in International Business from Harvard University and has published work extensively in the fields of international competitiveness and international investment policy and promotion. He has served as a consultant to the World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, Expert Resource Person to the United Nations, and Counselor to the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. He has also advised governments of countries in Asia, Africa, South America and the Caribbean on investment policy and promotion.
Emeritus Professor Wint is the former Chairman of the Caribbean Regional Investment Promotion Steering Committee and currently serves on numerous boards and committees in Jamaica in the private, public and educational sectors, including Chairman of the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN), Chairman of Jamaica’s Electricity Generation Procurement Entity (GPE) and Lead Independent Director of the NCB Financial Group. His awards have included the Vice Chancellor’s Award for All-Round Excellence at UWI, the Jamaican Order of Distinction (Commander Class), and an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree from Northern Caribbean University.
