Andrew Chapman founded Chapman Ventures in 1999, a progressive Hospitality and Lifestyle firm that has created and invested in some of the world’s most coveted and celebrated companies.
He also opened the romantic and revered August Restaurant in the historic West Village of New York City, and soon afterwards he partnered with his sister Sarah and launched the Blue Parrot in East Hampton, along with friends and family investors including Ron Perelman, Renee Zellweger, Jon Bon Jovi, Rob Wiesenthal, Richard Prince and Larry Gagosian.
In 2010, Mr. Chapman and partner Chef Marcus Samuelsson co-founded a company that created many hospitality and media brands including Harlem’s legendary Red Rooster. The duo also launched Ginny’s Supper Club, FoodRepublic.com, Ambessa Tea Company, Norda and the American Table Brasserie and Bar.
Mr. Chapman envisioned a progressive, community-based system with programs that empowered local artists, businesses, and organizations. Through his work with Harlem middle schools, he discovered the lack of food education that existed less than a mile north of Central Park.
In 2013 Mr. Chapman and his sister Anna created Green Beetz – a non-profit organization with an innovative, holistic curriculum that incorporates media and inquiry-based learning.
In Winter 2018, Andrew Chapman will open the doors to his highly anticipated hotel, Amhara, in Port Antonio Jamaica.
