Jean Philippe “JP” Beyer is the Managing Director of J. Wray & Nephew Limited. JP, who speaks French, Spanish and English fluently, has more than twenty years’ experience in the wine & spirits industry and has lived in seven different countries. This has honed his ability to work in a multicultural environment and with cross functioned teams.
JP possesses extensive hands-on experience in business development, management, international sales & marketing strategies. He has recruited, trained and developed a wide cross-section of teams in the wines and spirits business, with remarkable results.
JP joined Campari Group in January 1996, as Area Manager based in St. Maarten with responsibility for the Caribbean and Central America. In the ensuing years, JP was charged with growing the business for Campari and introducing the Groups expanding portfolio to Mexico and then US duty free.
JP then went on to become the Regional Director for Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa based in Athens, Greece and later Monaco with much success. This led to JP’s promotion as Managing Director – South Africa where he opened the office in Cape Town and oversaw 50 countries, further developing the Campari Group’s business in Africa & the Middle East.
After another successful stint, JP was promoted to the role of Managing Director for Campari Mexico where the Group had just acquired a tequila distillery and needed to develop a commercial operation for this large market of 120 million people. He quickly grew the business and refined the operations preparing him for his current assignment as Managing Director of J. Wray & Nephew Limited. In this role he manages Jamaica’s domestic operations as well as his first love- the Caribbean.
JP is described by many as a veteran in the Campari Group due to his extensive knowledge and understanding of the company’s culture and inner workings.
